Getting Started
To get started with GenioPrep:
- Create an account at thegenioprep.com using your email address.
- Upload your resume and paste a job description for a personalized experience.
- Choose from available services: mock AI interview, resume score, resume check, or resume rewrite.
- Your first mock interview is free. Paid plans are available on the Pricing page.
How It Works
- Upload your resume and optionally paste a target job description.
- The AI interviewer generates questions tailored to your resume and target role.
- Your interview session runs in-browser using your camera and microphone.
- After the session, your feedback report is generated and accessible from your dashboard.
- You are scored on communication, structure, technical depth, and business thinking.
Technical Requirements
Supported browsers: Google Chrome (recommended), Microsoft Edge, Safari 15+, Firefox 110+. Desktop is recommended for the best experience; mobile browsers are supported.
- Grant camera and microphone access when prompted by your browser.
- Internet connection: minimum 5 Mbps upload recommended; a wired connection is preferred.
- No additional software or plugins are required.
Before Your Interview
- Test your camera and microphone in your browser settings before starting.
- Close other browser tabs and applications to reduce CPU load.
- Use a quiet environment with good lighting.
- Have your resume and target job description ready if not already uploaded.
- Your session link is valid for 48 hours from the time of access delivery.
During the Interview
- The AI will greet you, explain the session format, and begin asking questions.
- Speak clearly and at a normal pace; the AI adjusts to your speech.
- You may pause briefly between responses; the session does not time out on pauses.
- Do not refresh the page mid-session; this will end the session.
- If your connection drops, return to your dashboard and rejoin via the session link within the 48-hour validity window.
After the Interview
- Your feedback report appears in your dashboard within a few minutes of session completion.
- The report includes scores and written feedback per evaluation dimension.
- You may download or share your report from the dashboard.
- If your report has not appeared after 30 minutes, contact support@thegenioprep.com.
Payments & Billing
- Accepted payment methods: credit and debit card, digital wallet, and online banking, powered by Razorpay.
- Payment is processed at checkout; access is granted on successful payment.
- Invoices and receipts are accessible from your dashboard under Billing.
- For payment failures, retry checkout. If you were charged but did not receive access, contact support immediately.
Refunds
For refund eligibility and the full process, see the Refund Policy.
- Zero-cost services are not eligible for refunds.
- To request a refund, email support@thegenioprep.com with your order details.
Account & Profile
- Update your name or email via Account Settings (login required).
- To delete your account and all associated data, email support@thegenioprep.com.
- To request a copy of your data, email support@thegenioprep.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Privacy & Data
- GenioPrep collects data as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Interview session video is retained for up to 30 days after the session ends.
- GenioPrep uses Google Analytics for site usage. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- GenioPrep does not sell your data to third parties.
Troubleshooting

| Camera or mic not detected | Grant browser permission; check OS privacy settings for camera and microphone access. |
| Session page shows blank | Refresh the page once. If the issue persists, clear your browser cache and retry. |
| Session link shows "expired" | Links are valid for 48 hours from delivery. Contact support if within the validity window. |
| Report not in dashboard | Wait 30 minutes. If still missing, email support@thegenioprep.com. |
| Payment failed | Retry checkout. Check your card or payment limits with your bank. |
| Charged but no access granted | Email support immediately with your payment reference number. |
| Login not working | Use "Forgot password" on the login page to reset your password. |

I did not receive my interview link. What do I do?
Access is delivered via your dashboard and email within a few minutes to a few hours of payment. If you have not received access within 24 hours, email support@thegenioprep.com with your payment reference.
My session crashed mid-interview. Do I get a new attempt?
If your session ended unexpectedly due to a technical error on our end, contact support with your session ID. We will review and issue a replacement session where applicable.
Can I retake the interview?
Free users receive one free mock interview. Paid users may purchase additional sessions. See the Pricing page for current plans.
How do I request a refund?
Email support@thegenioprep.com with your order details. See the Refund Policy for eligibility criteria.
Is my resume stored permanently?
Resume data is retained as described in the Privacy Policy. To request deletion, email support@thegenioprep.com.
What happens if I share my interview link?
Interview links are personal and tied to your account. Sharing a link may result in session invalidation. GenioPrep is not responsible for sessions accessed by unauthorized parties.
Why does the AI ask questions about my resume specifically?
GenioPrep personalizes interview questions based on your uploaded resume and target role. This makes the session more relevant than generic interview prep. Providing a job description improves accuracy further.
I was charged but my plan did not activate. What do I do?
Email support@thegenioprep.com immediately with your payment reference number and the email address used at checkout. We will resolve within 1 business day.
