AI Mock Interview

How Mock Interview works

You give it your resume and the role. A voice AI interviewer asks the questions, follows up when an answer is vague, then rates you on seven skills, question by question. Here is how a session runs, how the report scores you, and what it costs.

  • First 5 minutes free
  • Questions from your resume
  • In your browser, nothing to install

5min

free, for your first session

7

skills rated out of 5 in every report

3

interviewer styles, from balanced to very strict

60min

the longest session, with 22 to 30 questions

01 · Before it starts

About a minute of setup.

Upload your resume as a PDF or DOCX, or paste the text, then name the role and your experience. That is all it needs: the interviewer plans its questions from your resume and the role. To make it closer to your real interview, you can also add:

  • The job description, so the questions follow the posting
  • The company and the date of your real interview
  • The round: HR screen, hiring manager, technical, case study or final
  • What you want to work on, from communication and structure to SQL, product sense or behavioural questions

What you need: a microphone, a quiet room and a recent browser on a laptop or phone. Nothing to install. Earphones help the interviewer hear you clearly.

02 · In the interview

It asks about your resume, then asks again.

The interviewer speaks and listens in real time, one question at a time. When an answer is vague, leaves out a number or skips the decision you made, it follows up the way a hiring manager would. You choose how hard it pushes.

Balanced

Fair, and probes unclear answers

Asks, listens and follows up when a piece is missing. Good for a first session, or to build confidence before a real round.

Can you give me one example of that?
Strict · default

Challenges vague reasoning

Won't accept "I worked on" or "we improved". Asks what you did, how you measured it and what you would change.

Which data, and how did you rule out the obvious alternative?
Very strict

High pressure, sharper follow-ups

Moves fast and asks the uncomfortable question. For final rounds, or once Strict feels easy.

That's the outcome. I asked about your decision.

Some questions come with something to look at.

The interviewer can put a task on screen and ask you to talk it through. Which one you get depends on the role: a data role is likely to see a SQL query or test results, a product role a dashboard or a funnel. SQL and code are read by the interviewer, never run.

  • SQL editor
  • Code editor
  • Data table
  • Metric dashboard
  • Funnel
  • A/B test results
  • Chart
  • Case card

Camera on is optional. If you agree to it, a still frame every 10 seconds is reviewed for framing, lighting, background, steadiness and posture, the things you would check before a video call. It never comments on your looks, age or feelings.

03 · The report

Seven skills, rated out of 5.

When the session ends, the interviewer writes your report from the transcript. Each skill gets a score and the reason for it, taken from what you actually said. The scale is anchored, so a 5 is rare.

  • Question by question: what you said, what landed, what was missing and what a strong answer covers
  • The three things to improve first, and a practice plan
  • Notes on your delivery: pace, hesitation and tone
  • A PDF you can download and keep

What each score means

  1. 1Poor
  2. 2Weak
  3. 3Adequate
  4. 4Strong
  5. 5Exceptional

Most real interviews land between 2 and 4. A skill where an answer was wrong, skipped or had no concrete evidence can't score above 3, and the report won't give every skill the same score unless your answers earned it.

04 · Session lengths

Start free. Go longer with credits.

Every length ends in the same full report. A longer session asks more questions, so the report has more to go on.

5 minutes · free

  • 3 to 4 questions, with follow-ups
  • Up to 1 on-screen task
  • One free session per email address

30 minutes · 1 credit

  • 12 to 16 questions, with follow-ups
  • Up to 2 on-screen tasks
  • Covers more of your resume

60 minutes · 2 credits

FAQ

Questions about Mock Interview.

Is the interviewer a real person?

No. It is an AI interviewer that speaks and listens in real time. It asks questions built from your resume and the role, follows up when an answer is vague, and writes your report. It is not a recruiter.

What does the free session include?

Five minutes with the interviewer, usually three or four questions with their follow-ups, and the same full report a paid session gets. There is one free session per email address.

Which roles and rounds does it cover?

Any role you can name: pick it from the list or type your own. You can also choose the round, from an HR screen or hiring manager round to a technical, case study or final round, and what you want to work on.

Do I need a job description?

No. Your resume and the role are enough to plan the questions. Paste the posting if you have one and the questions follow it, and the report rates how well your answers match it.

What do I need to take it?

A microphone, a quiet room and a recent browser on a laptop or phone. There is nothing to install. Earphones help the interviewer hear you clearly.

Does the camera judge how I look?

No. The camera is optional and off unless you agree to it. If you switch it on, it reviews framing, lighting, background, steadiness and posture, the way you would check a video call. It never comments on your looks, age or feelings.

Can it tell me whether I'll get the job?

No. It rates your answers against what a strong answer for the role contains. That shows you what to practise; it is not a hiring decision, and a high score is not a promise of an offer.

What happens to my interview?

The transcript and the report are saved to your account so you can read them again, and you can download the report as a PDF. Your audio is used to make the transcript and is never published. You can delete your account and its data from Account Settings at any time. See our Privacy Policy.
