GenioPrep is an AI career readiness platform that provides Resume Score, Resume Rebuilding, Job Match and personalized voice Mock Interview preparation for job seekers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how you can contact us about your data.
1. Information We Collect
When you use GenioPrep, we may collect the following information:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your target role
- Your resume or resume text
- The job description you upload or paste
- Interview timing or preparation details you choose to share
- Form submissions and related responses
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Score your resume and personalize your mock interview experience
- Create role-specific interview questions and feedback
- Send you your results and contact you about requests you make
- Improve GenioPrep's service and user experience
- Track and manage service requests and user accounts
How we use your email address
When you give us your email address — for a resume score, an account, or a purchase — we use it for the following, and nothing else:
- Your results and your account. Interview links and feedback, payment confirmations, login codes, and notices when something on your account changes. These are part of the service and are sent from
interview@,billing@,security@andaccount.update@thegenioprep.com. - New job matches, if you have an account and have used Job Match: at most one email a week with new openings that fit your resume, each with a one-click link to stop them (see Job Match).
- Product updates and occasional offers, only if you agreed to them when you gave us your address — for example the checkbox on the resume score form. These come from
offers@ornewsletter@thegenioprep.com, never more than a few times a month, and every one carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
We do not sell, rent or share your email address with third parties for their own marketing. Our email is delivered through a transactional email provider acting on our instructions. If you unsubscribe from offers, we keep sending the account and security emails above, because you cannot use the service safely without them.
3. Resume and Job Description Data
Your resume and job description may contain personal information. You should avoid uploading information that is not required for interview preparation. We use your resume and job description only to provide the services you ask for: your Resume Score, Resume Rebuilding, Job Match, and your Mock Interview and its feedback.
Job Match
When you use Job Match, we read your resume to build a short profile of your experience (job titles, years of experience, skills and the kinds of work you have done) and compare it with job openings that employers have published on their own career pages. We use that profile only to show you matching jobs, explain why they fit, and, if you have an account and have not turned them off, to email you new matches.
- We do not send your resume or profile to employers. Applying is always your own action on the employer's website, with whatever resume you choose. Job listings come from employers' public career pages; we do not act as a recruiter or agency.
- Jobs you save or mark as applied are stored with your search so you can see them on your dashboard. They are deleted with your account.
- Your work profile. If you have an account, we keep a short work profile filled in from your resume: your job titles and dates, level, cities and skills. You can correct it under Work profile on your dashboard, and Job Match uses your version. The roles you are going after (your targets) are kept with it. Both are deleted with your account.
- New-match emails go only to account holders, at most once a week, and every one has a one-click link to stop them. Stopping them does not affect your other emails.
- To match quickly, we keep the profile and a numeric representation of it (not the resume text) with your search for up to 30 days, so a repeat search does not need to read your resume again.
Salary Negotiation Practice
When you practise a negotiation, we keep what you enter (your current pay and its parts, the offer, the raise you want, the company type and role), the transcript of the practice call, the follow-up email you write, and your report, so you can see your results on your dashboard. If you upload an offer letter, we read the figures from it and do not keep the file. The call's audio is turned into text as you speak and is not stored. None of this is shared with employers or anyone else. It is deleted with your account.
4. Use of AI Tools
GenioPrep may use AI tools to help generate interview questions, feedback, and preparation guidance based on the information you provide. AI-generated outputs may not always be perfect and should be used as preparation support, not as a guaranteed assessment of your job prospects.
5. Optional Video-Readiness Analysis
Some interview experiences may offer optional camera-based video-readiness feedback. If you choose this option, GenioPrep captures still frames at intervals during the interview to review lighting, framing, visible posture/positioning, and background setup. We do not record full video for this feature, and you can continue with audio only.
Raw still frames are stored privately and used only to generate interview-readiness feedback. They are retained for up to 30 days and are not shown publicly.
6. Where Your Data Is Stored
Your data may be stored and processed using third-party service providers, including cloud storage, database, and processing services used by GenioPrep. We take reasonable steps to limit access to your information and use it only for GenioPrep-related purposes.
7. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only with trusted service providers that help us collect form submissions, store responses, manage communications, or provide the mock interview experience.
When our support team opens your account
If you write to us about something you can see on your screen — credits that look wrong, a resume that has not appeared, a report you cannot open — the fastest way for us to help is to look at the same page you are looking at. So a member of the GenioPrep team can open a read-only view of your dashboard. We have deliberately built this so it can only ever help you:
- It is read-only. The view cannot change your details, spend or buy credits, start an interview, alter your resume, reset your password or delete your account. This is enforced by the system itself, not by a rule we ask our staff to remember.
- It is temporary. Access expires automatically within minutes of being opened, and has to be requested again after that.
- It is always recorded. Every time your account is opened this way, we log who opened it, when, and why. That record is kept, so there is always an answer to the question “who looked at my account?”
- You can ask. Email privacy@thegenioprep.com from your account address and we will tell you whether your account has been opened this way, by whom, and for what reason.
We use this only to investigate a problem, to answer a question you have raised, or to check that something we have just fixed is genuinely working for you.
8. Data Retention
We keep your information only for as long as needed to provide the service, improve the product, or manage user requests. We aim to delete resume and job description files within 90 days unless continued retention is needed to provide the service or you ask us to keep them.
9. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your country of residence, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, update, delete, or restrict the processing of your data, the right to data portability, and the right to object to processing. If you are located in the UK, EU, or EEA, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To make any request, email privacy@thegenioprep.com from the address associated with your account.
10. Children's Data
GenioPrep is intended for job seekers aged 16 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us at privacy@thegenioprep.com and we will delete it.
11. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. However, no online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
12. Cookies and Tracking
GenioPrep uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the site and to improve performance. Google Analytics collects anonymised usage data such as pages visited, session duration, and general location. It does not collect your name, resume content, or interview data. We also use Google Ads and Google signals to measure which of our advertisements lead to sign-ups and purchases and, where you are signed in to Google and have ads personalisation turned on, to show GenioPrep advertisements to people who have visited this site. You can control ads personalisation at My Ad Center. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings. We also use localStorage to remember your display preferences (such as light or dark mode).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be available on our website.
