Resume Rebuilding

How Resume Rebuilding works

You start from the resume you have, or from a blank page. The builder lays out what you wrote, you edit every line and polish any bullet with AI, then you pick a layout and download a PDF and a DOCX. Here is each step, what the AI will and won't do, and what you pay.

  • Free to build and edit
  • Nothing invented
  • PDF and DOCX

01 · Getting started

Two ways in, and two shortcuts.

Whichever way you come in, you land in the same editor with the same sections.

With your resume

Upload a PDF or DOCX, or paste the text. The builder reads it as it is: roles, dates, bullets and skills come across close to your own wording, tidied lightly. It usually takes under half a minute.

From scratch

No resume yet? The builder asks about your work one section at a time and turns your answers into a first draft. Skip any question and come back to it in the editor.

From your Resume Score report

The Rebuild button on your report opens the resume you scored, so you don't upload it again. The job description you scored against comes with it.

From a job in Job Match

"Tailor my resume" on a matched job opens the builder with that job's posting, which takes the place of any job description saved with your score.

Adding a job description is optional. Paste the posting and it decides which of your bullets lead and which skills come first. It never adds experience you don't have.

02 · You edit, the AI polishes

Every line stays yours.

The draft opens in an editor with a live preview beside it. Change any field, add or remove entries, and press Polish with AI on any bullet or on your summary when the wording is weaker than the work behind it.

  • Personal details and a short professional summary
  • Experience, internships and projects, each with its own bullets
  • Education, skills, certifications and positions of responsibility
  • Sections of your own, for anything that doesn't fit the others

What Polish with AI never does: add an employer, title, date, number, tool or achievement that isn't already in your text. If a bullet is too vague to improve honestly, it comes back unchanged, and you can add the detail yourself.

03 · Layouts and files

Five layouts. Switch any time.

Every layout is included, and switching doesn't change your words. The PDF comes out exactly as the preview; the DOCX is a simpler version you can edit in Word.

  • Ivy The classic single-column layout. The safest choice for job portals.
  • Meridian The modern one, with a colour band across the top.
  • Atlas Skills and education in a sidebar. Best sent straight to a person.
  • Ledger A plain Swiss layout, with section names on a rail.
  • Signal Leads with your headline numbers.

Applying through a portal? Use Ivy. Applicant tracking systems read a single column most reliably. Some older systems read a sidebar out of order, so keep Atlas for resumes that go straight to a person.

04 · What you pay

Nothing until you download.

Free

  • Uploading, or starting from scratch
  • The draft, the editor and Polish with AI

1 credit, on the first download

FAQ

Questions about Resume Rebuilding.

Will it make things up to improve my resume?

No. The builder only works with what you wrote. Polish with AI may reword a bullet, but it never adds an employer, title, date, number, tool or achievement that isn't already there. If a bullet is too vague to improve honestly, it comes back unchanged.

Do I need to score my resume first?

No. You can upload your resume straight into the builder, or start from scratch. If you have already scored it, the Rebuild button on your report opens the same resume, so you don't upload it twice.

Which files can I upload?

A PDF or a Word file (DOCX), up to 10 MB. No file to hand? Paste the text instead.

Do I need a job description?

No, but it helps. Paste one and it decides which of your bullets lead and which skills come first. It never adds experience you don't have.

Which layout should I pick for an applicant tracking system?

Ivy, the classic single-column layout, is the safest when an application goes through a job portal. Atlas puts skills and education in a sidebar, which reads well to people but which some older systems read out of order.

When am I charged?

On your first download. Uploading, the draft, editing, Polish with AI and the preview in all five layouts are free. One credit covers the PDF, the DOCX and every layout of that resume, so taking the second file is not charged again.

Can I rebuild the same resume for two different jobs?

Yes. Each rebuild is one credit and follows the job description you give it, so you can keep one version per application.

What happens to my resume?

It is used to build your resume, and you can delete your account and its data from Account Settings at any time. See our Privacy Policy.
